YWCA Meredith Place is a quality, 24 hour co-ed facility, with 21 bedrooms. Transitional housing and supervised care is offered to a wide variety of clients including: people facing mental health issues, people in recovery, people on day parole, transients, travelers, people seeking employment, people attending training, and others in need of a safe, supportive and affordable housing.
The residents of Meredith Place are provided with shelter, meals, support, referrals and information to assist them in acquiring the necessary skills to move towards their maximum level of independence.
Assistance is also provided to residents who are in need of support with basic life skills, money management, goal setting and career exploration. Emergency shelter for women and children is available in 3 emergency units located in the basement. The grand opening for the emergency unites was held in October 2006.
Peaceful Futures Program also operates from the residence for couples who wish to deal with past partner abuse, learn new coping strategies and are commited to a peaceful future.
